The conference was jointly organized by the China Institute of International Studies (CIIS), Beijing, and the Shanghai Institute of International Studies (SIIS) The meeting was attended by scholars and former officials from South Asia and China as well as by the President and Vice President of the SIIS and the CIIS, respectively.
